The finance ministry plans to increase cigarette excise by

An unidentified gunmen opened fire on the resident of head
of European Union (EU) representative for Aceh on Monday night

MARKET SNAPSHOTS
* Indonesia’s stock index .JKSE rose for a fifth day on
Tuesday, up 0.2 percent, earlier climbing to its highest since
Oct. 21, with state miner Aneka Tambang (ANTM.JK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), rising 2.1

* U.S. stocks rose to fresh 13-months highs on Tuesday as
upbeat broker views on improving prospects for two Dow
components offset dissapointing holiday spending outlooks from

* Oil prices rose slightly on Tuesday, topping $79 a barrel
as demand for oil products supported crude, outweighin pressure

Tuesday, the fourth consecutive day of gains, but profit-taking

Pasar Modal RI Masih Terancam Lemah

JAKARTA – Walau berpotensi mengalami penguatan, pasar modal Indonesia masih terancam mengalami pelemahan akibat keluarnya investor asing.

Director Head of Equity PT Fortis Investment Alvin Pattisahusiwa menuturkan jika investor asing masih mempertimbangkan beberapa risiko dalam memutuskan investasinya di Indonesia.

“Ada risiko yang masih harus diperhitungkan,” jelasnya dalam acara seminar bertajuk “Can IHSG Reach 3.000 in 2010?”, di Hotel Ritz Carlton, Jakarta, Rabu (18/11/2009).

Risiko pertama, adalah pemulihan ekonomi yang berjalan lambat, sehingga krisis masih saja terasa. Kedua, adanya pergerakan fluktuasi mata uang USD.

Terkait dengan fluktuasi rupiah terhadap USD, Alvin menuturkan jika saat ini Bank Indonesia (BI) tengah mengkaji agar pergerakan hot money tidak berdampak ke rupiah.

“Melakukan safety yang mengakibatkan hot money, BI saat ini memikirkan untuk mengatur hot money tidak berdampak ke rupiah dengan menahan dana asing di SBI,” jelasnya.

Terakhir, dia mengatakan jika kekisruhan politik, terkait isu kriminalisasi KPK, jika terus terjadi akan dapat menurunkan kredibilitas pemerintah. “Akhirnya popularitas pemerintahan SBY akhirnya akan turun,” ungkapnya.

Kendati demikian, menurut Alvin saat ini permintaan dari investor asing mulai tinggi, hanya saja belum kelihatan. Pasalnya, umumnya investor asing tersebut mencari negara emerging market seperti Indonesia.

Terlebih, sebentar lagi akan sampai pada January event, di mana fund manager asing melakukan evaluasi atas semua investasi mereka, termasuk di Indonesia. “Kemungkinan, kalau investasi mereka masih positif di Indonesia, meraka masih akan masuk ke Indonesia,” tukasnya. (ade)
